Neighborhood Meeting

The next neighborhood association meeting is Monday, June 7th at 7pm.  All neighbors are welcome to attend the meeting which is held at St. Paul United Methodist Church (enter through the parking lot door and go down the stairs).

A Country Club Tradition: Spring Egg Hunt 2010

The annual neighborhood Spring egg hunt will be Saturday, April 3rd.  Starting at 1:00 p.m., egg ‘hunters’ should meet at 2298 Country Club Avenue (located near the landscaped ‘triangles’ at the intersections of Country Club Ave, Grant and 53rd Streets) with their baskets in hand.

Per usual, there will be different areas specified for each age category (ages 1-12), so every child will find lots of eggs and goodies! This is a rain, snow, or shine event, so dress accordingly!  All Country Club residents are welcome, for it’s a fun event to watch. The ‘hunt’ starts at 1:00 p.m., sharp, so don’t miss out on the action!

Spring Clean-up 2010

The neighborhood Spring clean-up date is Saturday, May 15th.  Volunteers are essential for this event.  Please contact Ron Woita with questions (rwoita@cox.net).

Movie Filmed in Historic Country Club District

In November 2007, "Lovely Still", a film written and directed by Omaha-native Nik Fackler and produced by Dana Altman was filmed in Country Club.  The film is about family, the holidays, growing old, and the magic of love.  The director was searching for the "perfect American street" and he found it on 54th Street in Country Club.  The homes on the street played a prominent role in creating the warm neighborhood atmosphere of the film.

This unique opportunity was a wonderful way to showcase some of our area's best attributes:  our historic architecture, our neighborly warmth, and our cooperative, collaborative spirit.
